Rules and Regulations
Please read and understand the following rules. By joining and posting to these forums you confirm that you have read and understood the terms of your membership. Any failure to comply by these rules may lead to your membership of both the forums and the Association being removed.
Please note: membership to the forums does not constitute to membership of the Association. If you wish to be registered as a member of ASFAW (free) then you will need to fill out an application form on the website. Information is provided on the homepage.
Please read as follows:
1. Please show appropriate respect and courtesy towards other members. If you do happen to have a disagreement, please try to resolve it outside of the forums, it is not appropriate to fill up the boards with intolerant and abusive posts. Respect for other peoples race, gender, background and any other issues must be shown at all times. Treat each other fairly.
2. Please keep foul and abusive language to an absolute minimum. The odd curse is fair enough, but inappropriate posts will be removed immediately.
3. Please make sure the post you are making is appropriate to the forum you are posting it into. If in doubt, ask. Posts placed in the wrong area will be moved or deleted.
4. i: Please do not use this board to advertise products, or anything else that is not related to writing or art. The exception to this comes in the Recreational forum: you may post links to outside content, but it must be FREE content.
ii: Do not post links to pornographic or unsuitable sites.
iii: Do not use these pages as a means to advertise your own similar site. There is a specific area on the ASFAW website for advertisement of writing/art/publishing related sites - if you want your own included you will need to contact one of the site administrators. The exception to this is the Resources forum where you may place a small advertisement as long as your site contains informative and useful information - no linking to your own newly created rpg site.
iv: You may post links in your own member thread to your own galleries at elfwood, deviantart or elsewhere on the web. Tha goes for blogs too. What we object to are random advertisements for promotional and commercial sites. If you want to sell your work we suggest you do it through deviantart or through a publisher etc, not through us.
5. Please be aware of copyright laws. Do NOT steal what does not belong to you. And writers please be aware that if you post sections of writing or completed works onto the web forum, a lot of publishers will class it as published online. The critiquing circles are designed to avoid this: no work is ever posted online, the pieces to be critiqued are sent via private message or e-mail to other members of the circle (see the critiquing circle forum for more information).
6. Enjoy yourselves and have fun.
Disclaimer: The ASFAW accepts no responsibilty to damage done to the publishing rights of its members if those members have knowingly posted their works online. The ASFAW has warned you as to the possible consequences of this and if you DO choose to continue posting your work on the forums or the main site, you do so voluntarily; accepting full responsibility for your actions.
Additionally we (the ASFAW) do not take legal responsibility for the actions of those members who steal copyrighted material and pass it off as there own. Nor do we provide any protection against this happening. Uploaded images can be watermarked in software such as Adobe Photoshop, rendering them safer online. Again, if you load your work up on here you do so with full knowledge of the risks.
